The 8th Au Bank Jaipur Marathon will be launched at the British Parliament by British minister Baroness Verma and British parliament member Virendra Verma. The launch will be followed by a 5 kilometer long promo run on the banks of River Thames on July 3. Around 35 people from India will be a part of the promo run to be held in London.

This is the first time that Au Bank Jaipur Marathon will be launched on an international platform. The British parliament members will launch the marathon along with the marathon's website, which is to be held in the month of February, 2016. Au Bank Jaipur Marathon is the largest marathon all over India in terms of participation. The Marathon is planned for February 5 next year.

The event is organised every year under the aegis of Sanskriti, a well known social organisation which executes various social activities time to time. For instance, in the period of drought in Rajasthan, a campaign 'Akaal ka Ilaaj - Ek Mutthi Anaaj' was executed by Sanskriti which saw huge response from the masses.

This is the first Indian Marathon to be launched internationally. Suresh Mishra, President, Sanskriti Yuva Sansthan said, "Au Bank Jaipur Marathon is a huge attraction amongst the tourists coming from various parts of the world. This international launch will spread the message amongst the masses and act as a motivation for others to join the marathon."

This year more than 60,000 people participated in the marathon that also included participants from 20 countries. In 2017, the expected number of participants is one lakh from around the world.

Au Bank Jaipur Marathon founder and CEO Mukesh Mishra said, "It is a proud moment for us that today our initiative is touching international heights. Jaipur is a tourist destination and when tourism is linked with sports then it increases the economy of any place. This is exactly what our vision is."
